// Day 6 (05/05/09) Sapporo -Asahikawa //

Woke up at Route Inn Hotel and quickly grab our bags to catch the 730am train to Sapporo.
Deserted Aomori Stn.

Along the way, we caught nice scenery!

Nature beckons...

but mostly withered sakura...

We arrived at Sapporo at around 1pm! then had to find the hotel we were staying at- Comfort Hotel.

Two jap ladies were especially helpful. haha even though i couldn't really understand them except that they were talking about road numbers.
Anyway, when speaking to japanese, you have to add a 'O' to Comfort Hotel so that they can understand you.

Comforto Hoteru wa doko desu ka.

Left our luggage there and bought lunch.
Yummy bento seto.
Their fried stuff (tempura) has that golden crispy texture yet does not taste oily at all.
Croquette! we love!

En route to Asahikawa...nice, beautiful scenery again!! =D

Finally reached!

then according to directions from a hotel staff, we are supposed to board a bus near marui marui departo store.

So, here we are, bus top no. 18.

After waiting for 45 mins for the bus and a bus journey of 45 mins, we finally reached but the Osakae brewery had closed at 5pm!! =(

What cheered us up was the sakura we finally got to see!

(Not every part of hokkaido has sakura, i guess, only where the weather is colder.)
Such luck! =P

The sky was already darkening so we decided to head back to Sapporo.
Took a heart-thumping bus ride, cuz we did not know where it goes and the numbers on the meter kept jumping. =X

JR Asahikawa Stn.

Back to Comforto Hoteru, where we had our cheap and delicious dinner from JR Sapporo Stn.

Tori-niku Don (Mine)
Beef Don (Lynette's)

I forgot their actual names =S

Then had our free coffee from the hotel's breakfast area.

Comfort Hotel is quite a nice place cuz their breakfast area, located just beside the lobby, offers free flow beverages like plain water, orange juice, green tea and coffee from 3-11pm.
